No engine numbers on '70 AAR Cuda.
A very good friend just purchased an AAR Cuda w/manual transmission. Since we found the numbers on my '73 340 he looked on his and can't find them. The area in front of the engine block (driver's side) is totally blank. (See pic) We've scrapped it off with razor, scotch pad, paint remover. There's NOTHIN. Same for the engine number by the oil pan rail below. There's a milled area with nothing there. This is weird. Did the AAR have the numbers placed elsewhere?
We are confused

it was either a new NOS replacement BLOCK OR the areas with stamped numbers were machined to remove the stampings

I don't understand. Whats a 3577130T.A.340 block?
As mentioned there's nothing on milled area above "oil pan rail". Theres nothing on front above the drivers side head. Both these areas scraped perfectly clean.

Those are the casting numbers on the side of the block....I'm curious about the "white" comment, sounds like a story there

a new block was developed for the T/A & AAR cars - that is the casting number for that block - located above/behind the starter on the driver's side of the block
