Hey all,

I came across this ad on CG, it looks like it needs a decent amount of bodywork, any thoughts on a fair market value? Thank you!

Welcome @NWOBHM   :welcome:  Looks like you're in the market to buy an E-Body?   :burnout:  Tell us more about what you are looking for and your plans.  $20k seems a bit high for that car, but I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.

Hi Cuda Cody, my plan is to have a solid drivers cars, I've had experience with other older cars with poor body work, and it was a nightmare... looking for a manual as well... I've been watching Cudas lately and this one caught my eye, but just leery about the bodywork..

RUNCHARGER

Lots of good features with that car. It would depend on what the body needs. I would assume he would be a little negotiable.

Welcome to the site .
I bet that he more than that invested in it , Paint & body is not cheap though  , driveline suspension tires etc seem good .

Looks like a decent driver. I would want to see it in person, or have someone here look at it for you to give an honest assessment before sending him $20k. '72-74 Cuda's are not getting cheaper.

Is there anybody in the long island area that is able to check this out? I don't happen to live close by...

I have attached some additional pictures to help with evaluating..

Cuda Cody

Does he have any before photos?  The flakes of paint coming off would worry me a bit.

NWOBHM

These are the only pictures I have, the flaking does look substantial..

:iagree:

Do you like the seats, exhaust tips?  I think that is an auto console.  One thing leads to another before you are upside down, especially if you were to correct the body and paint it correctly.  Seems like a great start and cash talks on this one.  Good luck

My "Spidey sense " tells me that one has some hidden ugliness, but depends on budget and what you can get it for?  If you want a stock numbers type car I'd say wait for a better one to pop up?Me I'm not that type.   For sure this one will need ( or if your like me , you will want) paint and body done on this one. I'd say that starts at 10k around here.... That's where the "scary unknown until you get into it" comes in, but that being said you will likely get that with any 50 year old car....  I'd say you easily will have 35k into this one to make a nice driver.  :alan2cents:
Pay a little now... add in a lot later, or pay a lot now and ( hopefully) little later?

I believe that some of the others on the board have hit the nail on the head.  That car looks like it is hiding a lot of ugliness, but good luck and welcome to the site.

Yes; There is a lot of work $$$$ to spend on that body, that is what the guy knows and is why he is selling it. $10k might be an okay price in it's current state.
