72 to 71 clone increase or decrease value?

What do you think?
This car was 72 black w/ original 340/4sp cuda.  Now 71 cloned. Does the value go down up or stay with current value, I know to each his own with preference and what not, but all in all in the cuda world whatcha think.  She does have aa hood,( I would change back to rally) new srt challenger seats and American racing wheels IDK if that is a plus or minus in the real world either lol.

That was a really neat car stock. I would guess the value would be more cloned as a 71 (especially if done correctly and completely). I am not a 71 Cuda fan myself but there is a big interest in them these days.
Myself I would restore it to a very high level in it's original configuration. I am drawn to really nice 2-3-4 cars because they have been ignored for a long time and really nice ones are rare to find.

How did you managed to fit the SRT bucket seats in the car? Special adapters? The SRT seats are much taller and wider.

BTW, I don't mind a 71 front ends, four headlights with the grilled fenders and round tail lights. There are always some people that prefer some differences from factory. Heck Chrysler could had made it that way for the 72 model year.

This is a car I'm looking at. I didn't do the seats. The tail lights are 71 I believe.

I would not call it a clone personally, but it certainly looks like a nice car.  Restomod maybe.

I think the value on something like this is dependent on the buyer, you will have some guys say the love it some say they hate it.  If you are comfortable with the price I say go for it.

The value in Cuda's and Challengers seem to be in the 70-71.  Cuda's also have more value than Challengers.  Check the Hagerty value guide:

With this said, I always felt the 72-74 e-bodies make the best restmods and seem to have more value if they are tastefully modified more than they do stock.  Changing the car from 72 to 71, value would be very buyer specific.  Now design cues from one model to another might be different, like decal packages, bumpers, spoilers etc.  Just not the whole look of the car.

I think it's very dependent of the rear tail lights and marker lights. If they are indeed correct 1971 lights, then regrettably I think it's probably worth more now then a restored 1972. If not more then at least even.
The best restored 72 340 Cuda might bring $30K (this one could be higher because of the TX9 and D21).
This resto-mod 71 Cuda look a like is probably in that same range.

However as far as potential buyers go.....I think there's a much larger market for a 1971 look a like then the stock 1972.

To maximize potential,  I think the hood has to go, the 70 hockey sticks need to go in favor of the 71 Billboards, and the seats etc....
