70 cuda front wheel backspace with disc brakes

Can anyone help me out with the minim backspacing for the front end 15" craiger ss wheels?
I'm running rallies now and it looks to be only 1/4 " space from the upper control arm and the wheel.that wheel has a 4 1/2" backspace. The caliper looks pretty close also.  The most I can get from Craiger is an ss wheel is  a 4" backspace. If I go to a universal fit craiger I can get 4 1/4". Like I said my wheel now has a 4 1/2 backspace.
There got to be a simple fix. Graveyard cars has the same wheels on a limelight 70 cuda in one of their episodes.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

All depends on the tire size you want to run.

Rallye 15x7 rims have 4 1/4" backspacing. What's your current tire size? What is the clearance between the tire and front lower corner lip of fender when the tires turns it's closest?

Aftermarket offer lousey 15" backspacing for our cars. But that Crager at 4 1/4" would be good. Even 4" isn't that bad if you run a 225/60/15.

But if your car has had past collision repair, clearances can change with body work.

If you run less back spacing, you'll have more room between you upper control arm and wheel...

Thx for the quick response . Front tires are 225/60/15. Not sure if the front calipers are stock. I know I can buy a spacer but that may involve longer studs and so on. Like I said there's hardly any room between the upper control arm and the rim. I don't think I can return the wheels if their wrong.

You have 4 1/2" now, and if I'm reading this correctly, the new rim is 4" or 4 1/4" .....That means the rim will be farther away from the upper control arm, so I'm not sure why the concern ?

That's the way they were from the factory.

Does it look like the factory Upper Control Arm when you jack the car up? Don't worry it gets closer when the wheels are jacked up.

I've run 1/4" closer (more backspacing) 15" rims from 1997 to 2013. No issues.

Are you worried about the inside of the rim hitting the upper control arm and brake calipers? Or worried about the tire rubbing the fender?
