How do restore but maintain chrome areas ? blast, prep, paint

Is there a textured light argent in can?

How can you tell if hubs are OEM or aftermarket?

Am I better off just buying a set?

Also,

Are the any 15" trim rims that come close to looking oem ?

While I'm at is, does anyone have the paint code for the rallye 390 rims please... sandblasting this weekend.

Thank you !

I bought my argent spray bombs from https://8774paint1.com/collections/all/totally-auto.  Talk to him on the phone and he will tell you exactly what you need.  I was impressed with his knowledge of the proper argent shades and which shades go on which years/parts.  His paint seemed like a perfect match to the original. I used his paint on my '70 'Cuda grill, shaker bubble and fish gill rockers and they came out like new.  Also, bought the paint to do my rallye wheels and center caps but haven't gotten around to restoring those yet as I installed AR polished 5 spoke mags for the time being.  Also, if you do a google search for Mopar argent silver paint you will get several hits from other vendors.  Can't help you will the procedure for restoring the center caps as I haven't got to doing mine yet.  That's why I'm following this thread to see how somebody else may have done it considering the thin chrome trim edge.  I did buy replacement center cap inserts from Dave at Roseville.  https://www.rosevillemoparts.com/product/70-71-rallye-center-cap-center-inserts/ .  Good luck and hopefully somebody who has restored the OEM center caps will chime in with the correct procedure.  :bigthumb:

Thanks for the links, I was not aware that the center caps came off and could be replaced... good thing since mine are dented.    Are they held with adhesive?

I found this helpful thread:

It may be factory method but I don't understand why the black epoxy as a base in the front, because if the trim rim scrapes off the silver then the black underneath would be an ugly contrast vs light grey?

I agree about the black primer but my original unrestored rallye wheels are black on the inside with a black primer under the argent silver.  You're correct in that when the trim rims are put on and off they scratched through the agent and the black primer shows.  However, the trim ring covers up any scratches.  When I do get around to restoring mine, I'm going to forgo the black primer and just spray the argent silver after I media blast the rims.
