Poking around a website suggested in another thread and found the coveted 2229171 being sold there. $995 is about what I've heard they can go for as a rusted core. Theirs is advertised as rebuilt and ready. I already have one. Just sharing.

Nothing questionable about this guy unless you want to pay for this part and never get it. You can talk to his assistant who will blow smoke up your dress! Other than that, he's fine.

I think his parts are of good quality, he's just a bit of a wack job to deal with. :alan2cents:

@fc7cuda pertaining to this MC or in general?

In general.

He's a local vendor, but research comments above and on other sites.  My personal experience need not be printed.

Wow @Jay Bee ! This guy would scare me after reading that thread. I just got my 2229171 MC restored by Brad at Brake Warehouse in Minneapolis and it went well. Great communication, fair prices and quick turnaround. I'll do business with him again. Glad you chimed in. This group is like a gold mine to be a part of.

It isn't worth taking a chance with a vendor who is not good 100% of the time.

Didn't I just read a post on here from someone who said he has had great luck with ramman.  South Carolina I recall?  Did he erase his post?

I am glad that someone has had good experience's with him.

At Carlisle if you brought him a wide mouth caliper he would buy a core for 125.
Lots of folks purchased cores for 50 bucks and walked up and sold him the cores for 125.

Wish I would have seen a set of cores for 50 bucks but I wasn't looking for that.

I have an extra core that will be getting listed soon for much less.
