OEM dog dishes & Wheel vintiques Steelies

Hey guys!

I have just received my new wheels, they are steelies by wheel vintiques.
Do you know if OEM redline dog dishes will fit with this reproduction wheels?

Or will i have to take the wheel vintiques dog dishes which look definetly not as cool as Oem....

I used a set of original dodge caps on my Wheel Vintiques wheels. Here is a pic before I sold it.

Those are both OE design caps... Just that the one without the Fratzog is a later model cap often used on cop cars & government vehicles but also on some low option civilian cars..

I have a full set of wheel vintiques 15x7 steel wheels and they do NOT hold my original dog dish caps. On original wheels, the caps are hard to install and hard to take off. When I put them on the repop wheels, they stretch over the bumps ok, but they don't snap over them and would fly off too easily. Its almost like the wheel stamping isn't crisp enough. I've seen solutions where people grind a little material off behind the wheel center 'bumps' to give the caps something to cling to, but I haven't tried it yet.

I bought the wheels new in 2014 or 2015, so maybe the problem is fixed by now...

Those wheels look really nice, I've been thinking about getting a set for the Charger.  How do you like the finish and quality?

Two other guys told me they had no problem.... I suppose it will be a surprise for me.

Yes Alan i understand your point of vue. In my case i don't really have any interest in 100% accurate wheels because my 73 has probably nothing matching left from the factory....

Thanks!  They look good for $120 or so a pop.  As you mentioned, unless you have a high dollar car and need OE wheels these are roughly half the price of Tony's.

I have the Wheel Vintque's and dog dish combo on mine. I had to grind a groove into the base of the nub that the do dish cap locks onto.The stamping of the center section is not as crisp as OEM. It's a nice cheap wheel other than the grinding mod!

You are right. They are definitely making a strong comeback. Seems everyone is going with them these days. I think everyone is just tired of seeing rally's on all the cars and wanting to look different. The pendulum always swings back and forth.
