So I'm rebuilding the suspension and steering and ran into a random question. Any clue why Mopar used a different Pitman arm from '70/'72 to '73/'74?

I believe it is due to the diameter of the steering gearing output shaft.

Copy that! Good thing I didn't buy the '70 arm since it was cheaper...

If you plan on building a show Poodle and re building your steering box:

Yes the 70'-71' Pitman arms are quite expensive compared to the 72'-74' Pitman Arms.
72-74' arms are much easier and less price to get and replace later as well if needed.

Firm Feel probably will agree to exchange earlier 71'-72' shafts to later Pitman arm 72'-74' Sector Shaft when you re build your box.

Worth the inquiry.
They did it for me when they screwed up and gave me a later one.
Exchanged my Pitman arm for the later one.

You still need a Pitman arm Rob? I've got a couple.  :dunno:
