Sorry if this has been covered before. My car has a code on the fender tag for power brakes (B51) but not power steering (S77) but it has both. Was the power steering possibly a dealer installed option or could it be an oversight on the fender tag? :dunno: It also lists V7W accent stripes which I believe is the '71 RT stripe w/o the RT.?.

    Thanks for any input,

P/S isn't coded on the fender tag... Should be on the broadcast sheet...  V7W is a white painted pinstripe on the body line as shown below..

Normally, the fender tag only shows the codes that the body shop needed to know about.  They needed to know if the car had A/C or not because the firewall is different between the two.  They needed to know if the car got a radio because the fender is different.  The "light group" is listed on the tag because it required extra holes in the body exc...  When the body was being assembled, it didn't matter if the car was going to get power steering or not.  The body shop didn't need to know that info so it wasn't put on the tag. :alan2cents:
