Anyone know the correct size spring clamp for the power steering return hose?  I believe the hose itself is 11/32?  I would like to source one locally and not by mail order.  Thanks

Most of those spring clamps are color coded. The clamps on my 1970 Saginaw PS return line are red.

Hose size is correct, I have heard folks say they can get it at a dealer.  I got my Gates brand hose from Rockauto.com.  Do not get reproduction hose, unless they improved the quality.

Original clamps were red...  Problem is the clamp size is based on the OD of the hose & replacement hose may not have the same wall thickness.... And since a minor .020 wall thickness change is doubled it makes a .040 change in diameter... Now the red clamp doesn't fit....

So do you want the visually right clamp for your show poodle? Or do you want the mechanically correct clamp for the hose you are using...

Dumb opinion........but if you have the hose you're using, just measure the outside diameter and that will determine the size clamp you need :dunno:

You're correct in assuming the original hose was 11/32 inside diameter  :bigthumb:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I measured the ID of one of my red clamps and it was .630 to .650, it was off the ps cooler for my T/A.

Thanks, I was just looking for the parts store equivalent. I'm not familiar with how to properly size a spring clip and didn't want to lose a return hose. I wound up buying a kit from Ehrenberg on eBay.
