Looking for help in restoring my 1970 Cuda rear sway bar.  Any tips/tricks to removing the old rubber isolators used to mount the sway bar?  With enough effort do they slide of the end off the flattened sway bar?  I assume that's the way the new ones will go on.  What's the best source for new rubber isolators?  Will powder coating work on the sway bar to withstand the torsional movement of the sway bar?
Thanks for the help.

I use welded studs to a steel plate and welded to the factory brackets. New poly greaseable bushing and brackets from energy suspension. Sway bar had rust and dirt removed and painted black. This is not factory so might not work for you. Lots of aftermarket sway bar comes factory powder coated so should be fine.

no choice but cut the welds to replace the bushings , you might get the old ones out without cutting but how to get new ones in ?

I've never come across new bushings in 30 years  :dunno:

I am sure something similar can be made to fit sway bar bushings are all relatively similar in shape & function

With the use of some of the above suggestions, I was able to remove the bushings from the mounting bracket. and get them off the end of the sway bar.  Bushings look surprisingly well.  I will clean them up and soak them as suggested.  Plan to powder coat the sway bar and mounting bracket.  Is semi-gloss black the correct finish for a 1970 Cuda?
