steering coupler roll pin

I was looking on line and saw the steering coupler roll pins selling for $20 and up not including shipping. Seems this should be a $2 part really and a few sites popped up with a similar mopar roll pin but without any info about it's size for that price. Is there anything special about it? Are these NOS parts? Seems like I could use any 5/16 roll pin. Any thoughts?

Interested in seeing an answer here as well. I just bought the steering column rebuild kit from @MoparDave and haven't dug into what all is there yet.

Any hardware store, nothing special about that I`m aware of.

If I remember correctly, it only goes in one way.

I'm guessing others have had success with using nail  sets or whatever to tap the pin in, but roll pin punches definitely work best.

I supply two different guys who has the business of rebuilding steering columns.  Both of them have told me that the Dorman rebuild kit has the incorrect roll pin diameter.  They purchase the factory kits through me, even though the factory kits are three times the cost of the Dorman kits.

As well, I'm sure most guys know that a good ol regular stock Mopar pushrod is a perfect tool to tap the pin out and new one in.

Back in my junkyard days I'd usually grab an air cleaner stud.... Works perfectly every time...

Awesome, thanks. I assume it was something simple but wanted to make sure.

Some googling around seems to suggest there is confusion about the pin only going in one way or not, or if it is tapered. I don't believe mine was tapered. I can't recall if it mattered which way I took it out. Just trying to document it for anyone searching the site later.
