I was hooking up the tranny linkage up today and the lockout is very stiff, or at least I think it is. I assume it should move fairly easy by hand when not connected, please correct me if I am wrong. It takes quite a bit of effort and the shifter doesn't seem to want to shift with it connected. I rebuilt it using @Cuda Cody's vids. I'm guessing I screwed something up and may need to take things apart. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it to be tight and difficult to turn. The car is a 70 Challenger.

Update: I pulled out the steering column and set it on the bench. Guess what, it turns just fine :('  So I am guessing something was binding up when it was installed but I can't think of anything except maybe where it clamps to the frame under the dash. Well, atleast it will be a little easier to get the headers in now.
