I'm putting the sway bar back on and wondering if it matters which way the slit faces on the  bushings?  The originals were not slit.  Thanks

Cuda Cody

Solarguy

Thanks Cody.  You're always quick with a reply.  I didn't think it mattered either just thought I'd get second opinion.

RUNCHARGER

It's like anything else: Install them a certain way, assemble the rest of the assembly and then decide they are wrong and pull it all apart and reverse them. Put it all back together, done!

I make sure they're both the same typically towards the back, but agree that it doesn't really matter :handshake:

Original didn't have a "slit", OEM ones are being made by Bill Merrholz www.bmcuda.com if it matters to you.  I have two sets coming Monday for a couple of my cars.

That's great to know and looks like a super nice product.....$189.00 for the kit.

I imagine it would take some effort and a lot of patience to install them  :pullinghair:

303 Mopar

Slit does not matter as much as greasing them.

Solarguy

Those bushings look nice but at 189, they are more for the 100 point resto crowd  than for my driver.  That's more than half of what I spent on my entire moog front end kit, less pitman arm.  The moog k5241 bushings fit well and will do the job nicely.  The instructions say NO LUBE and at install, because of the slit, don't need any.  Will they squeak when driving without lube, I hope not.

Shoooter

Did this bushings work with the stock metal housing?

Solarguy

If you mean the k5241's, yes, they fit like a glove.  Very happy with them although haven't finished and driven the car yet.  Year one also has a non slit bushing  and brackets.
