I agree on the shifter handle.....But here's my take on it....Remove the T/A spoiler and weld up the holes....no worries about the paint because you can cover it with the correct butt stripe...the whole point of an A66 car is that it's not an RT, so the side stripes have to go in my opinion.
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

THanks for the comments!

Agreed on the pistol grip, first thing I thought I'd remove, to me it says ''I'm frustrated not to have a 4-speed''!!! But I have to admit this one is well-built and feels real good in the hand! Is the repro 70 shifter offered through vendors correct?
I do prefer the butt stripe, too, I'll probably switch eventually, in the meantime I'll remove the R/T grille badge and maybe find a way to cover the R/T on the stripe... I don't know if I'd paint the tail panel body color and the grille Argent, I like them Black.... Wonder if the Bumble bee would be wide enough to cover the ducktail if I leave it on as an interim phase...

Care to share details, equipment, do you have a fender tag? I'll need to have repro tags done...

I bought this car in early 1981.No motor, no transmission , no fender tag or build sheet. Otherwise a very solid car. 340 auto, 727 , dual exhaust. must of had suspension package as it has front/rear sway bars. Has 3400043 leaf springs.. Black vinyl roof. From what I can tell it was not heavily optioned. I was hoping you could tell me your build date on your fender tag. I cant read my door sticker any more , but believe it was 6-70. looking forward to seeing all the pictures you post.

That car has a great "look" and I think it's pretty awesome!!!   :bravo:

I'm not a pistol grip/auto fan either, that would bug me. Alan is right that if you decide to make it as per the sheet that a butt stripe will cover where the spoiler was nicely. Only thing is that the butt stripe paint was on there first, then masked and covered by the body paint. However I don't think anyone will care.

Always liked the butt stripe, it makes the car look shorter.....  Longitudinal makes the car look longer......

Mine says 5-70, here is a pic of the original door sticker that was thankfully taped off when the car was painted multiple times.
Scheduled production date was May 21.

Always liked the A66 cars, but especially with the factory bumble stripe.
Gives out the message that it is a special Challenger!

I would put the bumblebee stripe back on. it is one of my favorite options. I also live rear louvers for some reason. must be cause I'm a 80s kid and I like the trans am :dunno:

Just had repro window pricing stickers done from my broadcast sheets and shipping documents...  8)
Thanks to Triple A Enterprises www.window-sticker.com
$2 150.00 of options on a $3 250.00 base price, 2/3 of the base price, for a total of $5 400.00!
More expensive than many Hemi cars...
Remember that is in Canadian $, they were a bit more expensive here even then...

Wow: That's neat. I agree, that is Hemi car money for sure, very unique car.

reproduction window stickers are a novelty & one needs to be careful how they interpret the presented information

I see plenty of mistakes & the prices are right off Fantasy Island - the biggest error is, CANADA did not use the US gov't mandated Monroney Label  :foul:
