An update. I've been trying to stop some brake fluid seepage at the proportioning valve. I may have solved it. We'll see. I did install the steering column and brake pedal (automatic transmission). I may decide to do a 4 speed conversion now. I'll know more when I retrieve the rebuilt engine and trans from a friend's house. I need to see if the crankshaft is drilled for a manual transmission bushing. If so, I'll remove the steering column and brake pedal. I was trying to decide what to do about front side marker lights since this has aa 72 rear body and a 70 front end sheet metal. I don't want to alter the rear to accept 70/71 side markers and certainly don't want to alter the front end sheet metal. I decided to take a set of 70/71 front side marker housings that were badly corroded and convert to 72-74 side marker bulb sockets. I removed to corrosion on the housing by wire wheel and filled the pits with JB Weld which I'll sand smooth later. I removed the rusted sockets and filed the bulb socket openings to fit the 72/74 sockets. Works great. Now all four side markers use the same style bulb. LEDs were put in and they are bright. Since I'm using a 72 front electrical harness, the original sockets won't need to be replaced. I saved myself almost $200 by not buying complete, new assemblies. Cool.
