I dug through some old photos to show the gradual progress I've made over the years.  I realize that I've done a really poor job of documenting my progress with pictures.  I have lots of receipts in a nice binder but few photos.

Here is a shot of the dash and original steering wheel probably back in 1993 a year after I bought the car in from a guy in Odebolt, IA that fortunately for me had a pregnant wife ready to pop.

Dash is showing the obvious crack down the middle and you can see the white door panels that the previous owner sanded the chalkiness off and painted gloss black, as he was going to switch to black.

Next picture I'd repainted the road wheels at this point and probably installed the non-r/t longitudinal stripe on that day.  I'd gotten the white boot and did the white seats myself.  Slow going at the time as I saved my pennies to sent the door panels and dash off to Just Dashes the following year.

And finally the trusty original 318, the guy that painted it apparently took off the wiper motor and horns and other things that shouldn't have been painted body color and then when done painting he remounted those things and then sprayed them purple.  I'd repainted the horns and voltage regulator black by this point.  I still haven't gotten around to removing the purple paint from the power steering hoses, etc.

More to come

And this from 1994 after installing the redone dash pad and door panels, starting to look pretty good at that point.  Ready for something a little more exciting than the stock 318 but saving more pennies for the future.  Lots of suspension and brake improvements to come before a new motor.
