Must have been a 71 B-body...no U -code E-body in 71

That is true! no U code's in 1971 E-body's.

Then I guess I don't know what U code stands for. I thought is was 440.  :-[

Watched the whole video and enjoyed it very much. Nick seems like a great guy. I'd love to own that Alpine White Challenger! Love the movie and there is something special about a white Challenger. Congratulations to Nick!

@benlavigne Beautiful Challenger! Congratulations to you also!

"U" does stand for a single 4bbl 440.
In 1971 there were NO E BODIES manufactured with a 440 4bbl engine as an option. Only available in 1970.
In 1971, if you wanted a 440 in an E Body you had to order  "V" code which came with three 2 bbls.
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Hmmmm. Not sure what to make of this. In 1982 I had a 1971 440 4 sp R/T. Single 4 bbl. Pistol grip. I got it from the original owner. He claimed it was as he bought it new other than the front end damage. Based on what I know of the original owner, I am still in contact with him, I am willing to believe you could get a 4bbl 440 in '71. Or he was able to for some reason.  :dunno:

You might want to try and dig up something like an old insurance slip or something to verify the VIN....you might be surprised what you find...If it was a 1971 Ebody with a "U" code in the VIN it's truly a one of none
