I recently purchased one of the OER ones from classic industries, pretty sure it's just AMD, advertised as show Chrome and it's a really nice piece. But, as is shown above the original bumperettes do not quite fit right on the new bumper. I made them work and they look fine, but just one more aftermarket item that isn't quite perfect

Not really aftermarket. I bought re-chromed originals from Tri-City Plating Co. Inc., when they used to bring stock to the Nats. That was before plating got stupid expensive. They charge extra if no core is provided. I brought a rear with me and swapped out the front on the fun field. No fitment issues and they'll be at Carlisle.

Thanks avatar_Jay Bee @Jay Bee

I see that Tri-City Plating has an Ebay store.  No E-body stuff currently in stock, but most of their prices are $1,000+, which is not really justified for the driver condition of my car.

avatar_ec_co @ec_co Summit Racing lists different part numbers and prices for their AMD and OER bumpers, so I am assuming maybe they are not the same???  And what about the Keystone bumpers that were mentioned earlier in this thread?  Are they one or the other, or something entirely different?

I bought an AMD front bumper about 8yrs ago.
Couldn't justify paying $1k to have the original rechromed.
The price was about $300 then.
Fit is good and the chrome still looks the same as the day I got it.

Check it out on youtube..........you might be surprised. I know it isn't as durable as Chrome Plating but for some items it just might be the ticket. It should be a lot cheaper.
My powder coat guy has a near foolproof chrome powder that he says he's only having trouble with on inside bends on tubing. I saw his work on some motor cycle work he was doing for someone. Impressive.

Does anyone have any experience on how the 70 Chall front bumper guards fit on aftermarket front bumpers?

Well curiosity got the cat, so I made the plunge and bought a set of both the AMD and OER bumpers.  As avatar_ec_co @ec_co suggested, they appear to be make by the same manufacturer as they have very similar 8 digit part numbers stamped on the back.  The numbers weren't identical, but similar enough that I am assuming that the difference may be associated with a stamping or production date.

Chrome quality of the OER parts was not any better than AMD, even though they are advertised as "Show Quality".  The back sides of the bumpers was slightly different though.  OER backsides were shiny while the AMD backs appeared to have been sloppily sprayed with some kind of dull aluminum coating.  Maybe for rustproofing???  Very factory Mopar appearing (as in sprayed haphazardly with only partial coverage).  Only other difference in the sets I received was that the rear AMD bumper had some additional packing material in the box on the ends, so would be less likely to get damaged in shipping.

The AMD bumpers were about $30 cheaper each than OER from Summit Racing.  I'll be sending the OERs back.

How did you make the bumperettes work for you?  Did you enlarge the bumperette holes int the bumper so that curves of the bumperette aligned better with the bumper profile?

My body guy did it when I was away, doesn't look like he enlarged anything on the bracket. It doesn't quite fit flush with my OEM bumperettes, but close enough for me. I have a set of their bumperettes and maybe they fit better, but it's fine for now.
