I was watching this video on youtube and noticed this bracket. I bought my grill used from someone and didn't come with this bracket. Is it necessary?

I bought my grille new from a dealership back in 1983 . It doesn't have that bracket.

@RJChallenger okay great. Sounds like it's not necessary. Thanks for the response

Can't imagine why it would not be necessary...

Yes mine has it also. It supports the center of the grill so I would think it is necessary?

Didn't someone reproduce that bracket?

Maybe not critical that it is there but it is standard/factory and definitely should be there. It adds some structural support for the grill itself, eliminate flex and rigidness while cleaning, etc.

My replacement grille from a dealership doesn't have that bracket, and I cant feel any on the bottom of the grille that the bracket could attach to. The bolts are still in the latch support that this bracket would attach to. How is your bracket attach to the grille, glued rivets? Very interesting why a brand new grille wouldn't have that bracket.

Well that sucks that i don't have it. I will post a WANTED ad for one.
