Working on a 73 Cuda that was missing more then I thought. I picked up a grill and the rubber filler that goes between the bumper and the grill. I got the rubber strip and the plastic piece behind it but I must be missing the piece that if attaches to.  Anyone know what is missing or have one to sell?

@Burdar

Burdar is smart about 73 challengers, I'm not sure if he knows about 1973 barracudas.  the rubber filler piece that goes in between the bumper and grill on my 1973 cuda was screwed into the plastic Gray Main grill down low.  I just remember it being screwed into the bottom.  Tag me and I can dig around and I  might be able to find some photos

I figure it's screwed to the grill but I assume not the grill itself but to what? That's what I think I'm missing.

If I recall correctly it screws directly to the grill.

Post some pics of what you have and we can make sure it's right.

I know I took this off a busted grill in Carlisle. But I didn't recall what it screwed to. I put this up to the grill and there is no way it screws directly to the grill . Won't even sit flat on the grill to screw it to that's why I think there should be something that bolts to the bottom tabs of the grill first. This one is driving me crazy. Hope these pictures help.

I do not think that is the right piece.

Let me see if I can find a pic of the piece I took off mine.

After I talked to someone who has this filler, they are the same with the same part numbers. Looking at a broken grill on eBay that has that filler piece attached and looking at new reproduction grills it appears that the cut out on the grill is not in the same place as mine that's why it won't attach. I'm wondering if the grill I have is original to a 72 that didn't need the filler piece and it changed for 73. I noticed the cutout in the reproduction grill is a lot wider probably to fit 72-74 Cuda's

Hmmm I have a spare grill in my pile of parts that I believe still have the filler attached . . . let me dig it out and have a look as I'm curious now.  Should have time tomorrow and will post a pic.   :bigthumb:
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

My filler is screwed directly onto the grill from the front, right behind the bumper. A couple of screws go in from below...

Thanks for the pictures. I thought I was going crazy because I unscrewed it myself from the grill at the swap meet. As you can see from my picture it ain't screwing to my grill. Anyone looking for a decent grill for a 72 I got one.

@GoodysGotaCuda Do 72 Cudas have a filler piece in between the front bumper and grill?

@Rich G. I am often wrong, but I think you have the right piece, at least it looks close to me.

I sold my filler piece, but I have pics I will attach of my 73 grill that had a 73 filler attached to it.  That front grill is fragile so obviously pre drill your holes carefully.

I slotted my 73 front bumpers and personally love the look of a tucked in bumper, but I understand if you are going OEM.  Sorry for the late reply, been working hard and I have 3 small kids.
