Had 7 e-bodies, 3 convertibles, all of the convertibles I had collected water in the quarter panels. Over time the drain in front of the rear wheel gets clogged up, crap and dirt goes from the top to the drain channel and end up in the quarter panel and the drain is too narrow.

What do you guys think of adding a hose from the top drain channel och out thru the wheelhouse?
I think that will take care of most of the water from the top, although some will get down in the quarter still.
Like the pict, but maybe a bigger hose, and just weld a pipe on the drain channel, and one out thru the wheelhouse.

I need to search my computer.

I have some pictures (Resto Rick?) where the gutter end was capped and a stainless tube drain run to the wheel well.

It must be easier to clean out a short tube than try to get leaves and dirt out of the tight space between the inner rocker and the quarter panel.
Where I'm at we get a lot of pine needles all over the cars.

Would be great to see those pictures @larry4406

Instead of welding up parts consider this....

Might need the next size up I don't remember... But all you do is slip this over the drain through end & slip your drain tube in the other end then use a heat gun to shrink it down... It has hot melt adhesive in it so once it's done it stays together very well...

Here is the picture I saved from Resto-Rick years ago.  Not sure what type Mopar vert this came from (B-body?) but it shows the concept.  He used a 3/8" stainless steel tube.

I recall reading that European verts (mercedes, etc) had something similar?

Thanks for the picture, maybe thats better than a hose, I could make it even bigger, just gotta check so it dosen't interfere with the window stuff in there.
That plastic tube might work also, gonna check it out, thanks!

Soundcontrol - The small 3/8" diameter tube he used would concern me as well.  Also your concern over avoiding interference with the window mechanism is spot on.

This is the way I did it, steel tube, slightly smaller than the drain channel. Maybe 3/4".
I will cover the hole in the wheelhouse towards the wheel with some kind of flap that can let water out but keep dirt from the tires to come up the tube.
I test fitted the window stuff, its out of the way.
