Roseville has been out of stock, year one - nope. Totally auto - out of business? I need the correct argent paint for a 1973 barracuda grille.

Matt, I hope this will help, not exactly the argent you're looking for. I really didn't want to pay what Totally Auto wanted price wise and shipping. So I looked around and researched my possibilities and value wise. I found that Krylon has a color that comes pretty close to our argent silver. It's called Dull Aluminum and on a rallye wheel looks great. I found a few spray bomb cans at Ace Hardware reasonable at $7.00 a can. Maybe this will help out inexpensively and still get a good job done.  Thanks,   Al

Excellent. I will look for some there. Thanks.

The question needs to be asked...How accurate you want the paint on your grille to be accurate?

The grille for me is a Pet Peeve to me being dead nuts looking to OEM.    :alan2cents:

Will need fast Laquer and guns that can spray coarse material.

is the paint different than the rallye wheel paint?

In the right sun; Roger's Argent glitters at you like you're a movie star.

I've seen some Rattle can stuff at shows and it's just too fine a grain.

Just no Disco effect.   :))

Did not  impress me.

I used this stuff and it came out very nicely on the repro grill. One can was around $25 and did the grill and both headlight buckets with a little to spare.

It looks pretty good.

Sprayed it in the driveway on a rare 75 degree day a couple weeks ago. Now if I can only keep it safe in the house til the car gets up here...

Interesting... the paint labeling for their Organisol is the same as the what I bought a year or so ago from Totally Auto.

I did see that site, but I was unsure if dark or light argent would be correct for my car.

Yes, he bought out the paint production line from Totally Auto

Mrbill426

So he is producing it too or just selling what is left of their stock?

FWIW I am trying to replicate the 72 style taillight treatment and used the Light Argent from Herb's last weekend.  I'm pretty pleased with the results.  I thought this was the paint from Totally Auto. They have Light Argent and Dark Argent.

In the process i was able to expose the original argent used both on the taillights and the rear panel and they are a bit off of what I used.  In the masking process I pulled off some of the black overspray on the taillight housings that I now have to correct.  :headbang:

It is definitely darker and a bit more grainy.  The argent under the taillights appears more lighter but that may be due to age.

The argent layed on very nice.  Lots of metal flake in there though!
