Cuda tail panel/trunk molding fit

Our original tail moldings are not in the greatest shape with some dings and dull finish so I am considering perhaps aftermarket might be the way to go rather than trying to salvage the old ones.  First are the originals chrome, or anodized like the belt line moldings?

I am looking at these replacements and wondering if they fit the contours correctly on a (72) 'Cuda?  Do they use the same mounting clips as the originals, or like the aftermarket belt line moldings do they require their own sized clips?

I bought them for the 73 I built and they fit pretty good. I probably bought the hardware for it too from them.

Rather than "chrome", are the original ones stainless?

These moulding are anodized aluminum and should fit using existing clips. You may have to finesse them by hand a bit to fit perfectly but that is the nature of aftermarket mouldings. Straightening your originals is rather difficult since you cannot buff out the anodized finish after using a hammer with punches or picks.
You won't be disappointed with the OER repros.

Search OER ME1007 and several vendors will come up with better descriptions.

70-71 Grand Coupe used the same moldings as the 72-74 Cudas

I agree with @anlauto. 70-71 Gran Coupe (BH) and later 72-74 Cuda (BS) used the 3-piece anodized aluminum on the quarters and decklid. 70-71 Cuda (BS) used thin 4-piece stainless mouldings surrounding the tail panel area.

Can someone chime in about the 72-74 availability for the 3-piece mouldings? Optional for BH and standard for BS or just for Cuda?

Ok I see.  The description just through me off; perhaps if it mentioned Gran Coupe for the earlier models.

Interesting. My BP27 should have come with the rear quarter/truck lid molding then, right? It's a clone now so it has the correct tail pan molding so I'm wondering if I have the other moldings in a box somewhere.
