Bought a sand beater bag to try to do some work on a couple of beatup hubcaps.
Funnelling is very slow thru the finger sized opening ,have a pan of sand drying in the oven to see if that will flow better.
Any faster way anyone has filled one of these bags?
Thought about mixing in water, but its made of leather.

Water will make it a lumpy slurry, dry is probably best......  As far as getting leather wet, Cows get rained on.....

I just used regular sand, mine had a zipper and a large opening, so it was easy.

Haha, yep, all true.

The zippered opening would sure make sense, I swear noone who makes something ever uses it.
Almost done, the oven drying and ensure small grains is slowing working.

Any old sand will do I think. I used to go to the kid's sand box and pound out parts quite regularly no bag required. It worked like a charm, might not work in winter however.

Just working on straightening a couple of old 40's Plymouth hubcaps and way too hot here in Texas to do outside at this time of year.

Yes I could imagine. It's only been in the 90's here and it feels too warm to do work outside.
