Which way up ? Does the flat side lie on the trunk floor or does the side with the edging.

My internet search has not provided an answer, Can not find any clear photos.

old one on left has lip up, new one on right lip down.

I dunno, I think that lip goes up. The way the old one was mounted.

I'm looking at the spout in the middle, is there a way to flip that around even ?

Yes, I think it just flips inside out. I'm pretty sure any car I've taken apart had that outside lip pointing up, I am old though....

Lip up is how mine was. I replaced my original one about 3 years ago and remember it being lip up.

Finally found the memory card that had photos of my friends 71 340 cuda.

What do you know, I took a photo of the seal, looks like lip down ?

The tube, seal and latch shouldn't have body color on them.  That car has had some work done to it so I wouldn't use it for factory reference material.  :alan2cents:
