So I have someone offering me a nice 1973 Challenger. Unfortunately when the body was being done the side marker lights got welded up. If I buy the car it would have to pass out of province inspection and would need to have working side marker lights. Anyone have any ideas on how to add them in? My best thought so far is to put in 1968 style because it's just a round hole on each corner. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks

or I have seen the 1971 Plymouth Road Runner GTX Satellite  or 1971 Dodge Charger side marker lights added flush mount that looks pretty cool,

or these ?

I guess it depends on how original you want? If that matters?

If you'd like to go the 70-71 Challenger side marker lights I have a complete set offered up for sale here on the forum. I selling the lenses the bezels and body retainers and fasteners. Only if you are trying to decide which way you're going to go with this. Let me know.

Thanks avatar_Brads70 @Brads70 these are some good options. I like the idea of putting in the 1970-71 style but not sure I want the added expense of welding, bodywork and trying to match the paint.

You could do something almost invisible using a very small but bright  LED maybe with a pentastar trim !
The stock 72 up stick on for all Mopars were nothing special .

This is a great idea if I can find something like that

68 versions you mentioned is a good option if you are good with them not being factory.
IMOP they would look good.
Do they have to be actual lights? Or will reflectors suffice?

So, if I recall correctly, the 1973 side marker lights were mounted on top of the surface of the fender rather than being recessed into the fender surface like the flush-mounted marker lights on the 1970-1971. So this should be as easy as buying the marker lights for a 1973, drilling a correctly-placed hole in your fender for the existing marker light connector on your harness, and mounting the marker light in the correct spot. It's not as cool-looking as the flush-mounted '70-'71 marker lights that I wish I had on my '73, but you'll look OEM for 1973 and you won't have to cut, weld, and paint.

72-74 are still recessed. Just not flush to where 1/2ish thickness sticks out.
