Positive battery cable bracket painted?

Have a basic question but should the positive battery cable routing bracket be painted the color of the car or left as pictured. Looking for factory correct. Was this bracket installed before it went to paint or after.

I believe bare metal is correct.

Never before paint, it would be a natural metal colour

Ok thanks guys it's what I figured I just wanted to double check. My original one is painted thought they just left it on when they restored it so that's why it had the paint but a tab broke off so need to replace it. Will leave the new one as natural metal.

I just bought one of the repros from Hoover (rob1426 on eBay).  It's a nice reproduction.

@440ehigh Where is that bracket mounted? Which E-body model? What year?

It's on the d/s frame rail just forward of where the clutch pivot bracket is welded to the frame.  I would imagine all 70-74 had it but only have experience with 70-71.
