Who is good at rebuilding hood hinges?  The last set I had done years ago from Sylvian and SMS, but I know he sold the business.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

SMS sold the business and the new owner jacked the prices too bad as they are local to me and I would have gone to them. I  went to Rick, fast turn around and very nice work.

How do you know the hinges need to be rebuilt?  Mine don't seem too bad.  Nothing obviously wallowed out, but I'm not sure how tight they can or should be.

RUNCHARGER

I wiggle the hood back and forth and up and down. Watch closely right where the rivets are and you will see if there is any movement other than rotational.

Like Runcharger says, best way to tell is on the car.  I had what I thought were tight hinges until I got frustrated with trying to fit the hood and after an hour or so of adjusting I realized that the hinges were loose.  I sent them to Resto Rick and I think that I had them back by the end of the week.

With my restos, I just send them out regardless ...it's a wearable item that should be attended to, in my opinion.. :alan2cents:

I've also used a few AMD sets, but prefer originals. :bigthumb:
