Not sure if this is the right place so apologizing in advance if it's not.

Does anybody know of any Frame  Shops near buffalo, N.Y.  I am having a devil of a time getting any certified frame shop to look at my 70 Challenger. It needs to be tweaked from a rear end encounter with a pole but nobody wants to touch it because it has no engine yet. I bought it this way, and I am trying to build from the bottom up.

The rear rails at the end show only 46" from outside frame rail to outside frame rail and the frame specs i got off this site shoe 49". So the cross brace wont fit, neither will the taillight housing, and the trunk tapers down from 56" to 52".

I have called over a dozen shops and I get the same answer, not running not interested.  Also if anyone has their challenger handy I would like a confirmation on that 49" measurement.

Thanks
Ogre.

Please take a picture of the area that you want measured.
From point to point please.

Is the measurement different between the cuda and the challenger?

You might consider looking up resto shops in your area and asking them who they use.

If rails are off do you see a buckle in trunk floor, or a crease in frame rail ?   It sounds like you are unsure if there is damage, some diagonal measurements should help determine that.      good luck on project.

Hey @ogre .   I'm just a little north of you.   I'd suggest you call K-S Automotive on River Rd in Tonawanda 716-692-8222.   They rebuilt my engine and 3rd member... both turned out well.  Most/all of what they do is for hot rods and muscle cars.  They were highly recommended to me by some folks who run drag cars at Lancaster.  I've not used their collision shop (fortunately), but they have one.   If they don't do frame straightening in-house, they will have a good place to refer you to.

I have a 70 Challenger as well.   As far as I know, mine has not been in an accident so I'm happy to have it serve as a reference for yours.   You'll need to get over 10 posts before you can use the PM (Private Message) function, so say hello to some new members or whatever to get your post count up, then we can exchange more information if you're interested.

thanks Cody,

I am trying them today.

If you get a chance take the distance outer edges of the frame rails by the spring shackles. Should be 49", and the distance from the shackle bolt outside to the 1/4 panel or trunk floor extension that way I can set the rear properly.

Picture of the wanted area helps.  Just sayin.  Some of us are illiterate.
