Spotweld with TIG

That, with primer I unfortunately I do not have an answer for. My experience not automotive is is always bare metal.

As for the E coat I do believe it always needs removal.

I pulled myself away from tigging right now to answer this.   :bradsthumb:

Shhhh don't tell anybody but welding was for my Mustang rack conversion...  :stop:

Finally got the new weld thru primer, tested again, and it works fine. So my old primer was just bad for TIG welding. Got a good burnthru and the spotweld did not break at all when prying the panels apart. Will do my trunkfloor like this.

That looks like a nice weld! Was that Volvos weld through primer?

No, its from Würth, Volvo said they could not get theirs anymore, so they buy this one from Würth also.
1250 SEK for a can!! I got it cheaper though, got 40% off, but still....

Holy cow! That is expensive! I hope there is enough of it for at least two cars.

Yeah, it should last more than 2 cars, since I don't have to cover that much area.

That is 139 dollars in US money, for a can of weld thru primer!
