Just seeing interest in anyone cruising down.

September 17-19th in Bowling Green KY at the Beech Bend Raceway.  https://www.moparty.com/

A buddy of mine is taking his B2 71 Super Bee and I will take the 70 vert out on friday.  Cruising county road style through US 41 in Indiana from Chicago. If anyone is heading out and wants to caravan let me know.

I'm going again.  I tagged along with some locals last year and this year I'm registered to take a car.
With less than 6 weeks to go, I'm starting to worry, as I haven't touched the car in ages and I need to get it going and figure out the leaky carbs.  Also the guy who promised to lend me a trailer is sick I'm concerned on the trailer situation also...

MOPAR MITCH

I registered right away for the Grand Champion competition... predominantly autocross, drag race, speed/steer/stop, also allows dyno pulls and other events.   Last year's event was a blast!

They put a cool picture of my car onto their DYNO Challenge event this for year.

Looked like a really good show but 1100 miles from here in NH.

I spoke to the marketing group for the event on July 29th and they told me that registration was up over 450% overall for the event.  The 2020 event was fairly low key as they were limited by the fairgrounds and the state on attendance due to Covid and they used it to get a feeling for a Mopar show.  This was the first swap meet that the marketing firm had ever dealt with in promoting shows for over 12 years.

For those who attended the 2020 event, there was very little that people had issues with.  Some areas have already been addressed and like any event, it is a work in progress.  I can see this event taking over the crowd that would usually go to the Nats in Columbus.

I truly believe that the folks at Holley and its subsidiaries will pretty much do what is necessary to make this show a success.  They are open to suggestions and the marketing group has been very easy to work with.  I know that I have talked to them about some areas in which to expand the event in 2022.

So for anyone within proximity of the event, come out and support the show.  It is not a Carlisle as for as the size and scope, but it offers a wide variety of events and can possibly become a premiere event in the next couple of years

I plan on going as it is only a 5 hour drive which is way shorter than the 12 hours it took to get to Carlisle this year.

My two sons and I will be there with one of the A-bodies.  :cooldance:

Man really wish it was closer ( should have moved to Tennessee when I had the chance) as I love the combination of show and driving events. I tend to get a little bored at car shows so really like events that have drag racing, autocross, dyno or even a country cruise! I might have to plan to trailer down for this one next year.

It was great last year.  I loved the drag racing, the stands were sheltered so no broiling in the sun to watch.  And you could get closer to the track than any other strip I've been to.
And the rally racing was fun to watch too.

My main concern is that the event will quickly grow to a size that stretches the capacity of the facility, and the city.
I bet it at least doubles in size this year.  We reserved our hotel in spring, and some friends of mine found that hotel booked up when they tried to reserve a room there later in spring.  They did find something else though.
We had trouble getting a table for breakfast one morning, and restaurants in Bowling Green were pretty busy last year in the evening, so with 2 or more times as many attendees it's going to be tougher this year to get dinner!
Someone told me the Holley LS fest there is out of hand with so many people there.
I guess we'll see how it goes.

Wow this sounds like a really good time. But the thought of driving NIKKI thru Chicago...  :soshelp:  Maybe if there would be a caravan of cars from up here. You know the "safety in numbers" thing. The other flip would be the long ride on those stock seats..... oh lordy call 911

Even if I trusted one of my ebodies to drive 800+ miles round trip, I don't think my body would be up for it.  I know people who long haul in their vintage Mopars but I only put 500-700 miles a year on each of my cars on average going to local cruises and area shows so long hauls worry me what might go wrong.
As far as driving through here, you'd want to use the tollway which heads through the suburbs around the west of the city.  All the expressway shootings we are getting famous for are on the Dan Ryan, Eisenhower and I-57 in the city and some south suburbs.
Our drivers are nuts though too, so driving 60-65 in the right lane while everyone is going 75-90 and flying around you gets nerve wracking on our highways.

Brad we are on the same page! Altho I'm sure NIKKI would make the trip, me, not so much. We went up and rode ROAD AMERICA  a few weeks ago... that was enough! Of course there are members here with pickups and car trailers. I have a Canadian friend who hauled all the way to Florida!

I'm registered to have my T/A in the Mr Norms display but getting nervous the trailer a friend promised to lend me might fall through, as he recently had a reoccurrence of cancer and is pretty sick, and he's got a car stored in it.
There are plenty of open trailers around here to rent but I don't trust my car in anything but an enclosed.

Ya, I`d have to tow as my Ram is way more comfortable for my bad back and old achy bones and even then I would be a bit kinked up after that many hours behind the wheel.
