Fall is here and that means Musclecar and Corvette Nationals is coming up soon!
The premiere gathering of top shelf 60s and 70s musclecars in the world bar none, the show is sometimes referred to as the Pebble Beach of musclecars.
This year I've got my Challenger convertible registered to be in the yearly Mopar Alley feature, and celebrating its theoretical 55th birthday Sunday of the show.  (SBD B24).
So don't forget to bring it a present, it uses 10W-30 VR1.   :happybday:

I've been there several times. It's a blast. Even showed a car in 2021. I got the Eye Candy Award. Always stay at the Embassy. Lots of te car guys hang out in the dining room. Couldn't make it this year. Enjoy...Joe

Everyone says "see you there". I'm always looking, but I could be standing right next to a fellow EBO member and not know it. :notsure:  I've met some of you guys by wearing my EBO shirt. So if you guys have some EBO swag be sure to wear it!
Cheers!
Tom

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

@RzeroB I'll definitely have on one of the EBO hoodies.

I'm generally wearing my MCACN staff jacket and hat since I work there!
Hopefully I'll get some breaks to spend some time by my convertible.  I typically get stationed in the stage area not far from Mopar Alley.

I've not been going to car shows without the draw of a real swap meet but I think I'm going to try to get to MCACN this year.  Maybe find some inspiration for my car, and definitely update my list of "all the cars I want to buy when I win the lottery!"

The current list is already long and includes some special cars...

MCACN does have some vendors but the swap meet aspect of the show is small.
Mainly a show to see the best of the best cars! Also many of the best restoration shops always are there, and a lot of celebrities in the vintage auto and racing world are there. I know Chris Jacob's and Courtney Hansen are lined up to appear this year.  Wayne Carini has been there in recent years.  A number of legendary drivers from 60s and 70s drag racing are there every year.
For some reason Jay Leno hasn't attended yet, maybe someday!
Anyone who's a member of the Chicagoland Mopar Connection planning on going to the show, the club has discounted tickets available.  The club sent out an email last week.

Duodec

I don't think I saw that email but will check.

I generally don't care about meeting tv celebs.  Meeting the real Chrysler performance folks would be much cooler, if any remain who go to these shows.  I've also been following Dead Dodge Garage and Rocket Restorations online, and I know the owner of the latter went to MCACN last year (and road tripped picking up parts and cars both ways from Washington state).  Be cool to see them in person if they're there.

For the most part I don't care much about the TV celebrities, but still there are a few times I thought it was cool to see someone famous there.  Like the first time I spotted Wayne Carini.  I saw a woman hanging out with Courtney Hansen one year who looked familiar but I wasn't sure.  Found out later it was the woman from Pawn Stars.
It's cool seeing drag racing legends like Arnie Beswick.
Maybe the most memorable famous person sighting for me at MCACN was I got to meet and get a picture with Ralph Giles a couple years ago.  The new Challenger was a very exciting event for me when it was announced as a concept in 2006 and released in 08.  An 09 R/T was my first new car purchased, which ranks with my T/A being my first car purchase in high school. Kept the T/A, shouldn't have let the 09 go, but love my last call Scat Pack.
So meeting the main guy behind the program was a special memory for me!
I've met in person a lot of respected guys in the hobby I've known online there, such as Scott Smith, Dan Pausch and Diego Rosenberg. I even met the late Steve Juliano there one year.
I remember a few years back I met Bruce aka Floyd on the forums there.  We'd known each other for many years online but never crossed paths.  I had no idea what he even looked like.  But we met at the show and hung out for a bit like old friends, which we were, but it just was such a unique experience seeing an old friend you'd never actually met in person!
Lots of memories there over the years, I'm lucky I'm close by so I've been able to be there every year plus get involved in working at the show.

I can understand that.  My car had been sidelined for almost 25 years. I only heard of MCACN after I rejoined CMC a couple of years ago, and my focus now is getting the remaining parts I need to 'restore' the car to a decent level while doing small sub-projects.  I enjoy seeing other cars (and take inspiration from some!), and I do mark up my bucket list of lottery Mopar purchases, but number 1 is getting my car going again and getting the parts needed before they become even more expensive and unobtainable.

But I may still try to go this year.

Plan ahead. Hotels fill up quickly. Sunday is better if you want to see more cars. Saturday is crouded. Go both days if you can. Here's a link from Yenko. Also get tickets on line to avoid a possible long wait...Joe

I look forward to seeing your AAR again, she's a beaut!  :wowzers:
The MCACN show magazine just came out a week or two back.  If you're not on the subscription list for the free magazine, it's too late to get the 2024 edition now. But here is a link to view it online:

Absolute fact! You'd be hard pressed to beat this event. I'm planning to be there.
