@Rev-It-Up it was a bummer I didn't get to see you and Red that year at the presentation.  I was glad I got to call you on the way home and thank you.  I am excited about moving back to the mainland soon, so I can get back to my normal way of life and my car!  I think @Moparal has had possession of it longer than I have now!

I remember seeing that photo and wishing soooo bad that I could have been there.   Some cool people in that photo.

I've wondered that myself many times over the years. He and his wife, Pam, are super people!

I was wondering about him recently.

It's been 4-5 years since I spoke with Jim and Pam as well; since my iPhone 6 did the Heat-up-for-forty five minutes-and-die-polka in mid January, I've been trying to reassemble contacts. If I can find their latest number, I'll give a shout out to them this evening after work and let everyone know the latest  :)

I called and talked to him about 2 years ago and all was well although Pam has been having some health issues I believe.  I still have the number if anyone would like it . . . PM me and I will share!

Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

I came in later tonight than I had hoped for and 0330 is coming early :Thud:, so it will be tomorrow evening when I'll call them.

Thanks Spikedog - you have a pm :bigthumb:

I spoke with Jim earlier this evening - both  he and his wife Pam are doing fine enjoying the retired life. They're now living in what Jim explained is the Upper Eastern Ohio Valley.

Pretty much the only thing keeping them from being more active on the forums is the combination of a fixed retirement income and cost-prohibitive network access. I told Jim about this thread and he fondly remembers everyone and loved being remembered as well. That's when he explained the network circumstances.

However... they've still got their Mopars. Jim mentioned that his 71 Dart is going through a reassembly with "...possibly a dual quad 440 going in." With two structures, one 36' x 48' and the other 30' x 30', there is plenty of room to make it happen.

Jim also mentioned that Pam is doing very well recovering from cancer in 2014. He had his own brush July 2016 with an Emergency Room visit after his heart rate had sped up to 163bpm. At age 70 no history of heart problems, but still, a-fibrillation. He's doing fine now, but the result last summer was single heart bypass surgery for aortic valve replacement.

With all that said, Jim made sure to mention to me that next month he and Pam will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

Jim loved hearing from all of us from me, said it made his day and gave me his cell # and address while encouraging me to pass the information on to anyone who'd like to make contact. For privacy, just pm me and I'll pass it along.

Awesome , I am glad they are doing OK
Cancer is always bad news , I doubt many are the same after , always wondering
You would think with all the technology today there would be a solution for them  just plugging a stick into the computer would connect them wirelessly to internet.
Do they have any interest in coming to carlisle again ?

Cuda Cody

Thanks for the update RusTy/SE!!!!  Glad to hear they are doing good.

Ditto, thanks for the update! Great to hear they are doing ok!

I wish we could get Jim and Pam out to Carlisle again.

I was fortunate enough to spend a night in their "Mopar barn" when I went out to the Mopar Nats in Columbus in 2009. The deal was I could stay the night in their barn if I drove them to the show.

This is NOT a barn. It's a home, with Mopars in your living room. He has a blue '72 Road runner that is so wicked sounding when he started it up. He has a pit to work on cars there too. I wish I would have taken pictures. He is living the dream as far as I can see. God bless you Jim.
