It is amazing how many people think the painted flag on top of the General Lee is a confederate flag.   IT ISNT...it is the Rebel Flag not a Confederate Flag.   The Rebel Flag is NOT banned !!

It goes deeper than that. Despite free speech, there are many things you cannot talk about. In some areas, you take a real risk wearing anything that shows support of the President. All cop related shows are being pulled. Businesses and governments nationwide are pandering to the new movement, not because they genuinely believe in it but because they are genuinely afraid of being singled out for not doing so. Even major sports has caved in stating they were wrong all along. This free country is becoming less free each passing week. What we are seeing is the entire country curled in the fetal position, sucking it's thumb, waiting for the bully to go away.

There is a way to push back and show businesses/governments you don't approve of their capitulation; don't go to their events. Going shows them you approve of their political decisions. Yeah it sucks to miss out but 2020 has been a crappy year anyway. None of this gets better until we as a nation stand up and tell them they are overreacting.

Actually, its the 2nd jackstaff flag of the Confederate Navy. The armies of Northern Virginia and Tennessee used a square version as battlefield placards. No confederate states every used any version of prior to, during, or immediately after the civil war. It didn't begin to appear within state flags until the dawn of 20th century.

That is why I put Confederate in parenthesis as I know there are many flags that used varying versions of the Stars and Bars, it`s just most uninformed people call it that. Yes it is a lot of things being attacked, flags, monuments, in fact our countries history -good or bad, and it`s very disturbing things are going that way.

I was one of those people. Learned something  new today. Thanks Don.
Now. What's the difference between being a rebel, or being a confederate? I thought the confederate states were the 'rebel' states?
Remember I'm Canadian and don't know a lot of American history.

The history of America is being erased to appease the few.  That is too bad. I keep hearing slavery was made or started in America.  Obviously many cultures had slaves before America was a stain in our founding Fathers underwear.
