My Mother-in-Law, Wife and Kids are planning their Summer road trip and are looking at running from Texas to Pennsylvania.

That said, my Father-in-Law and myself will likely fly out there to meet them and a day at Carlisle could be part of our agenda, we will not be showing any cars.

Is it worth going for a day?
Which day is best?
Should we stay close?

I saw that there was a sale on tickets in November, are there any current discounts we can participate in?

Definitely worth it as a spectator!  Fri or Sat would be best.  Not sure about discounts, but i think it's pretty inexpensive for a one day pass.  Plenty of food reasonable options to.

:iagree: Fri and Saturday are the busiest . Sun its a ghost town by noon. I'd say yes it's worth going for a day.

:iagree:  YES!!!  It's a for sure thing to do even without a car.  Not sure on the price of tickets now, but sign up for updates on the Carlisle site and they send stuff out from time to time.  You can buy at the gate too but I think they cost more at the gate.

If your main focus is looking for parts, I would suggest coming on Friday as it is not quite as busy with the locals who drive in on Friday evening or Saturday morning.  By 3 PM on Saturday afternoon, your already seeing some of the vendors loading up so that they can start heading home.

If your wanting to see the show field, then Saturday will be the best day for you.   It will be extremely difficult in my opinion to see the entire show in one day.  The show has so much to see.  We arrive on Tuesday afternoon and it used to not be too busy until Thursday around 2:00 PM.  Now the Thursday crowd is showing up on Wednesday and Thursday is busy with guys hitting the swap meet area looking for the really hard to find pieces before the general public comes through the gates or having to deal with the foot traffic for Friday and Saturday.

For everything that the show has to offer, the gate price or food prices are not that far out of range for most.  The worst part will be the lodging as even the budget rooms hike up rates for the weekend.  Depending upon where your driving in from, there are several areas within a 30 minute drive that will possibly have better quality rooms and I would say that everything that is right there in the Carlisle area is already booked unless someone cancels.

But for the Mopar lover, it is a must see at once in my opinion.

I've never been either Goody. I hope to make it this year with or without my car.
Looks like an awesome event. I'd like to meet some of the people on this forum and
check out all the Mopars!

Go for it!

Make sure you find the club tent when at the show . . There is almost always someone at the tent!   :bigthumb:
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

There is no better Mopar show out there and you won't see everything in one day! You will definitely need sunscreen or an umbrella, hopefully just sunscreen!

I went to Carlisle without a car one year and it was fantastic.  It's not just about the cars.  For me, getting to actually meet some of the really great people on this site was the best part.
