Looks nice / 383 2bbl not sure what is up with the top cover

Nice car but is that a realistic price given it's original engine is gone?

Cool!  That's one of the group of convertibles my convertible is part of.  3 VIN away from mine.  Q VON, thought to be executive lease.  6bblgt has documented about 20 in the group.  All are fairly loaded, most were 318 cars, but several are 383 2 barrel, and mine and one other of the ones documented so far were 4 barrel cars.

Aftermarket radiator, dash cap, added ralley cluster, R/T clone.   :alan2cents:

RUNCHARGER

Hood letters, hood fit, tailpipe fit. Not really feeling it.  Paint looks good though, A personal inspection would have to be done.

Any guesses? I'd say he better snap at an offer of 50.

Needs a flat hood like it was born with, replace the R/T stripes with correct white pinstripes, remove the spoiler, and find a convertible top boot that fits, and I could live with it even with the updated engine and wheels.

Confirms that I won't consider those wheels for my almost identical Challenger, I have been considering them but I think I'll go with the 15" Road Wheels to replace the 14".

RUNCHARGER

Yup: Those wheels make it look like a wagon with tall, skinny wooden wheels.

Nice looking Challenger vert.
Really an RT clone/restomod
Really contingent upon a closeup inspection; especially body integrity and potential rust
Nice to have AC in a vert
Seller looking for top dollar.
Personally, overpriced IMO

It does seem like a lot of money for a clone. So I have to ask the question...is the hobby at a point where a well built clone exceeds the value of an equally well built original non-clone? This car was a 383 which is desirable but if it were only a 318, are people willing to pay more for the clone simply because you can't afford the real deal or is a clone always "just a clone?"

JH27N0B

I've seen crazy money paid at auctions for customs.  Not sure about value for clones. But defining where is the line between a clone and a custom lies is difficult. This car is a little too custom to be called a clone.  But not enough custom to be anything near a good custom either.
We had a debate here some time back about the value of my convertible, which is stock, when I was trying come up with a value to insure it for.  I ended up insuring it for 70K, which is what I wanted to insure it for. I wouldn't sell it for that.  But realistically I think it would sell for 60, maybe 65K to the right buyer if it was on the market.
This one we are discussing is a more popular color than my FK5, but been modded up not original, so I would think the 50K estimate previously given, +/-5K is probably about right,
