Barry is posting elsewhere that the block is restamped on this car.

Beautiful car  :bigthumb:

If a motor was installed at the dealer under warranty, the dealer could have stamped the block as well, I guess Barry would call that a "re-stamped block" as well ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I've never heard about dealers stamping VINs on warranty blocks when replacing engines back in the day.  Is there any documentation that was ever done?
I seem to recall some sort of metal tag attached to warranty engines, but other than that I don't know how one can document an engine was replaced under warranty except maybe receipts for the work.

When this car sold on BaT, two years ago, the then seller didn't seem to want to address that question. At 71k, I think it didn't affect the price, too much. With a color combo that everyone thinks is cool, until it time to sell, and an auto trans, the price seems right, for two years ago. I'm definitely watching this, as it's a twin of a T/A my wife drove, a lifetime ago.
