Nice car but...It's amazing how time and time again these cars are represented..So resprayed door panels and engine bay fall into the "routine maintenance/survivor" category?

It's been for sale for a while.
Seller is super nice and is very good with following through.  Well, unless this is a new buyer/seller who is flipping it.

Yes, I was also confused when the third paragraph heading in Description states : Virtually 100% Original Survivor in Unrestored Condition
There's  several after market parts, trunk is painted black, jack is painted, etc. I know over the years, things are changed to suit an owners taste and this car can easily be brought back (if no rust). There's plenty of dings/dents to show the car is unrestored. It is a nice car with the desirable 4 speed and to me, would be a great driver and a conversation starter. It will be interesting to see if it sells.

I looked at buying this car in November, but bought an AAR instead. Seller is a nice guy and he told me if it did not sell he was going to consign it. I believe this guy must be the consignor. He told me he would sale the car for $56K. I could not get past the engine compartment, interior color, rattle can underneath, wrong color hood plus the AAR was just a better car. I have several pics of the car if anyone is interested.

No mention of a fender tag, broadcast sheet.  :dunno:

desirable color with manual trans other then the tan interior it should be a relatively easy sale

I don't love the interior but it's a good exterior colour, 4 speed and rally gauges so overall a win. Personally I prefer this car to most as you know what you are getting bodywise.
I imagine that quarter panel dent could be worked out by a painless dent removal guy? The fender antennae is unfortunate though.

This is one of those cars that falls into a very awkward category and takes a special person to want, own and drive this car.

A person that can afford $65,000.00 on a car that is neither restored or a clean survivor...a car that is a perfect candidate for a full restoration, but no way feasible at that kind of entry price.... a person that doesn't mind driving a car with dents, scratches incorrect items and details, etc...etc...etc...

It was probably one of those cars that was a great deal for somebody at $25K, but now they think it's worth a million dollars.

I'm that guy. I hate catch phrases but I like "honest" cars. Yes I would prefer it to be cleaner but I'd much sooner have this car than one for $20k more with shiny paint over Chinese metal. There's a butt for every seat as they say. I realize the current hobby has mostly people that want paint over substance.

I get where you're coming from....Do you think "THIS" T/A is worth the asking price ? $65K ?

Could you be happy owing and driving a car in this condition having paid that much ? I know some people could, but most people couldn't. :alan2cents:

I'm opposite f you for sure Sheldon, I'm more of a shiny paint kind of guy, I've never been one to get excited over the "survivor" category...

...but I agree....an ass for every seat and there's absolutely nothing wrong with anybody's personal preference :drinkingbud:

I think $65k for this one favourably compares to an unknown shiny one for $85k. $55k for this one pulls away from an unknown shiny one for $85k. Keep in mind the 4 speed and rally gauges too although I would want to see the sheet and data plate, carb #'s etc. of course.

I know a lot of these "survivor" cars have had damage repaired and the areas "blown in" as well. I think the rear valance on the car would bug me the most but if you worked and painted the valance, worked and "blew in" the back half of the quarter and painted the hood the car wouldn't bug most and I think would gain much more interest at a car show than a base coat/clear coat drag queen if car show interest is what you're looking for.
To be honest if I was allowed to travel, I would probably be laying eyes on this car. I am going to watch it in the next little while.
One things for sure if I was wrong about this car and had to blow it apart and paint it, I'd be into it for less money than a project bought cheaper, part$ $ourced, Chine$e metal welded in etc.

I think it has a 1971+ signal light switch in it... :haha:

I think it's an excellent candidate for a full shiny paint restoration...The options combined with the original body panels, lack of rust etc... but does anybody really want to have $150K into there Challenger T/A, only to be afraid to drive it... :drunk:
