1970 grill question

1970 challenger grill the center of grill where challenger name and RT emblems go panited black or left silver, I've seen them both ways just wondering how it came from the factory thanks

The eggcrate center is not painted. It is silver...aluminum.

Thanks for the reply I've been at car shows and told the person who owns the car I think the center is supposed to be silver, they usually yell back that's exactly how it came from the factory, I guess I should just keep my mouth shut
