Custom stripes, decals and art work

Looking for a custom side stripe which will incorporate my unique 'Cuda artwork showing through it.
Does anyone know of a Southern California source?
I am not a big fan of the '71 IMO massive side billboard call-out stripe.
In keeping with the original spirit, I would like one like it, but with a whole bunch more body paint showing through it in order to soften the impact somewhat.
I have some interesting ideas but need a place close by that can manufacture these custom decals/stripes per my vision. Thanks

There are translucent vinyls, but they need light behind them to work.  The other option would be to digitally print the graphic so you can have as many colors or designs styles you want.

The second option you mention would be the way to go for me as the paint on the car would have to be the "light" that shines through it. I already basically have a final design idea.
The vinyl would be Black gloss and approximately 90% the '71 size and shape but with translucent letters/numbers and graphic allowing more paint to show through. Thus breaking up the monotony but still keeping the unique style of the original.
I will probably need a program like you so successfully used for making the Hemi 392 decal on the TransAm side stripe project in order to setup the graphic sizing and shapes.

Printing on clear to allow the paint to show through can be a bit tricky.  Takes a lot of testing to get the right look.

Agree, just have the letters and graphic cutout (laser or otherwise) from the material like normal.
The paint will simply just show through as is like normal.

Oh okay, that's easy.  Pretty much all sign shops will have a vinyl plotter to cut the vinyl to anything you want.
