I'm considering selling a really rough-looking 1970 Cuda.

I have it on Craigslist but I'm mainly getting scam people not real people looking to buy.

Any idea how much you have to pay in fees to sell a car?  I'm hoping to get $8,000.  Do you have to pay fees if someone buys it but doesn't actually pay for it?

This is off topic but do you think I should put this sucker in primer so doesn't look so hideous?  I wish they were making another Mad Max movie so I could just haul this one to the movie set.

Thanks

Here is what I found with a quick search.

Listing fees

Total: Free

If your vehicle sells

Successful listing fee:
Final bid <= $2,000.00 : $60.00
Final bid > $2,000.00 : $125.00

You would have to file a non paying complaint with  :ebay: if you ended up with a non paying bidder. Think you can list 6 cars a year with no fee, after that think it is around $50;

Hope this gives you some insight.

eBay is pretty cheap for the national attention you get.   :alan2cents:

You could try Cars-on-line as well. I've had good success with them.
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Paypal also takes a cut if that's how they're paying, the deposit at least. It averages 3 1/2% on regular sales, not sure if it's different for cars or high priced sales.

Paypal takes their cut of any monies passed thru them.  It's best to have it worded in your auction:
- $500 non-refundable deposit thru Paypal due within 24hrs. end of auction balance via cash or wire transfer due ..........

or similar
