Can I get confirmation that this splash shield is for e-bodies with auto trans only?  Also, 70-74?  Thanks

Sure looks identical to the one I took off today for easier access changing the starter (318 auto). If no one else verifies the part number I'll look for it on mine tomorrow.

Yes, the pictured splash shield is for Automatic transmission cars. Reproduction shield is a pricey item.

Seems odd,  only auto cars.  Wonder what the thinking was there?
I installed it on my car that is now a four speed, was auto. Didn't think it's application was driveline dependent?

I wonder if the engineers felt that the linkage for an auto car was more sensitive to the grime that would be splashed up on the linkage.

The shield is there to protect the kick-down linkage.  It runs right by the starter.  If the kick-down linkage gets damaged by a rock or something, the trans won't last very long.
