Eastern Iowa weather and road treatments are probably similar to
eastern Nebraska- snow and ice was treated with road salt (especially in the metro areas, not so much the deep rural areas) and if not washed/kept clean on the underside, the cars rusted away like that.  I've seen some solid cars and trucks from Eastern Colorado / out your way....

It appears to have had V5 body side moldings.  How surprising.

Surprising indeed!  V5 was NEVER available as an option on an M46 car.
Just a few notes:
The fender turn signals on the car are 1971, not 1970.
The only partial view of the rear quarter and decklid, show no holes for the rear aluminum trim that any M46 optioned car would have.  Yes, I know, heavily bondo-ed, regardless.
Unless you can get hold of the auctioneer, his cel, is listed, I would stay away from it.  Besides, the fact that t has been listed so poorly, indicates that neither the owner or the auctioneer have any idea about the car.

Hope you can get tag pic.
Yea, salt and sand on roads there.

Here yal go.
I am fairly disappointed.
However I am kinda at a loss as I have no other barracuda fender tag that has A46 and M38 on it.   Nor do I have a tag with Y91.

I understand what the options are as I have read what they are.
But, why?

If this was a special order car or a car with special needs wouldn't that Y05 be a different Y designation?

Mr Cuda

@cudahunter   I keep telling you I know where there's a M46 that is running and driving that you can make a deal on.  Needs a little work,  maybe a new paint job.  But doesn't need floors or fenders or major rust repair.

The auction on that pile is the 15th, so we won't know what someone will value it at. And i saw no m46 on the purple tag.

Purple tag spun

I might have to find that one!

Perhaps the purchaser of this car will sell the scoops.  After all they don't go on this car.

Obviously the previous owner must have liked the M46 option since the look was recreated when the car was repainted.

I think the owner has posted this car on FB so you might want to check there for more onfo.

Jeff, @torredcuda has the car been listed separate from the listing on the first post here?
Curious if there are more pictures out there of the car?

Odd, that link brings me to a blank facebook page.  I didn't know a blank FB page was even available.
