This new generation is basically preparing itself for the "Self-driving" cars of the very near future.

This is the killer. Right now the cost of everything is going up so fast most people my age rather live downtown and not have to incur the cost of an automobile. It's even less then an appliance then a car has ever been in it's existence. I have a friend who owns zero cars, lives downtown in a condo but own an airplane. Just takes an uber to it. Still cheaper then a car payment, insurance and parking.

Very few people my age care about cars in general. Whether they are 830 hp demons or 1971 Hemi cuda's.

I am positive I will see the ban on the sale of fossil fuels in my lifetime. I'm 34.
On the flip side, this pandemic has proven to companies in many industries that employees can work from home.  Wait until these downtown office building leases are up for renewal over the next several years.  People can go live in the country for a 1/3 of the price of living downtown to do the same job working from home.  But they won't wait 30 minutes for an Uber driver to show up at the third corn field on the left, so will have to drive.  Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Good point and maybe people will realize after all this time that big cities suck and rural and small towns are a much better lifestyle anyway.
