The story seemed a bit made up from the get-go IMHO.

Did the current seller say in the ad that he had found the BCS ? or it was found ? I wonder because I got the feeling he was duped as well.

The seller was referring to me as "not being so nice" as I called him out on the fake build sheet yesterday. In his ad he wrote "we found the build sheet" so I concluded that he was the person behind the deceit.

When I read what Alan had wrote this morning I thought better of it and that he was possibly duped. I emailed him and apologized for assuming that he had created the fake BS.

He wrote back and said:

"It's fine - I was just surprised is all,my phone has been ringing off the hook with message alerts about this car & then I got hit with the news so I'm the interest of being fair, accurate and as honest as I can. I just ended the auction since eBay Locked out the fields that I needed to change from updating. I am traveling to my daughters college now and need to think about what to do when I get home- do I just keep it & do the car or update the listing with what I know to be true & see what happens"

He did sign one of his emails as Chris don't know if that is who johnr sold it to.

I think I'm gonna have to call BS on this.

The "reproduction" broadcast sheets are a fairly new thing and if he bought this from another guy which the car has been sitting on the bay for awhile would not have the ability to make the said broadcast sheet.

This whole thing stinks and wouldn't go near this with a 10 foot pole.

Yea, who knows....I'm just real surprised that in this day and age of the internet that people would try and get away with stuff like this....I'm not against having a sheet made "as a novelty" like the eBay ad says....but don't try and pass it off as an original...If the current seller did buy it, and get duped, I don't feel too sorry for him....and little research like sd22 was doing, would have saved him some money.....

With all this crap going on.....1971 Cuda's are still the hottest ticket....this may not be the cream of the crop, but it still would be a cool car to restore and if the seller cleans up the ad, I'm sure it will sell no problem, likely in the $15K-$20K range. :alan2cents:

No, the original poster of this thread sold the car, we don't know if it was to the current seller or if there was someone else in between  :dunno:

I wasn't aware that we could even have a new broadcast sheet made. I am getting ready to do a '70 challenger tribute car, for my boy, and this would be a nice added novelty for show.
