I was digging through some old pictures today and found a couple of my old /6 1970 Challenger convertible.  Original Hemi Orange car.  Column auto.  Power top.

I wonder where it is now?  I sold it to a guy in Vermont.  Should have kept it.
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

Man that's cool.  At this point one of the rarest Challenger convertibles around.  I hope it wasn't made into yet another high impact colored hemi clone!!
On my bucket list is finding a Challenger clone convertible and restoring it back to original!

Cool, slant six is the new Hemi ( everyone will pile on me for that no doubt  :bricks:) I'm starting to appreciate 318s more and more as well.  :bradsthumb: pretty sweet car.

Well Eric......hindsight is always 100%. I just couldn't get rid of mine no matter how ratty it started looking. I guess when I'm gone my boys will have to make the decision. Thanks,   Al

Do you have it now?  I know it had a 340 swapped into it.

No sorry, I was commenting on Brad's post

I would like to restore a "flat hood" car back to original, like a /6.
The one I always think of though, was a JH27N0B car I saw on eBay a few years ago. It was cloned into an R/T, with a 440 6 pack iirc.
There was a picture of the fender tag, and I spotted a D21 code.  There weren't many '70 N code Challenger not R/T's verts made to begin with, and only a very small % were sticks.  I'd never saw a original 4 speed one before, a unicorn!  That's about top on my car I want to own someday list, to go with my automatic transmission one.
I was in no position financially to buy it, no place to keep it, and buried in another project let alone start on another project then, so it wasn't to be then.
I may never see another one again.  :crying:

Ok guys!........ here it is, it's not a convertible, but it is a Slant6 E-body. I guess what makes it special is that my Dad bought it for me. It will be with me for a good while longer.  Thanks,   Al

I know there is a '70 FC7 slanty vert still around. not many slanties left for sure. I'm keeping mine original too. it was born the same week as Al's, (VINs just a couple hundred off, same plant) but I need bit more work to do before it's road worthy ... hopefully by next summer :)

old pic when I picked it up, but the bay looks almost the same now. focusing on all the small parts and body for now

As Cole said his car is representative of the Slant6 E-body Plymouth  Barracuda's and mine Dodge's offering. Both '70 model cars, both purchased in 1973, Cole's Dad bought his and I bought mine. Both built at the LA plant in Aug. '69 exactly 10 cars away from each other, mine is #113 and Cole's is #123, both extremely early cars, both base model Slant6 cars. What's the chance? I hope that Cole can put his on the road by next summer, I'll give to him all the luck that I can muster for his accomplishment. "GOOD LUCK" Cole, I'm backing you up buddy. And like JH27NOB said, would love to put a, flat hood, E-body with Slant6 back on the road, why not? I was fortunate to find an original Power Bulge hood for $50. I've always liked that hood, he'll even the new 6 cyl. Cars have the 2 scooped hood so why not.   Thanks,   Al

Is it hard to find parts for these /6 cars or do they share most of their parts with other models?

pretty easy for the most part since they made millions of slant sixes (only other engine close to the same long term production #s is a cheby 350) and most parts are shared. there are a couple shortcomings - no new engine bay harness for the /6, no reproduction exhaust (I still have my original though and will have it repro'd as close as I can). there is some aftermarket support for upgrading the engines power a bit, including a cool new offering from TorqStorm - they have a custom supercharger setup specifically for the /6, I'd also like to upgrade to an a833, but not sure if I can get the truck bellhousing to work in the e-body or if I have any other options. either way it won't be anywhere near a 'great' resto due to budget, but it will get a lot of love and more $ than I ever thought, and it will be a near daily driver for me (LOVE the Colorado weather!! should get 9 months of the year to drive it) so no need for perfection.
