So now that my car is back from cancer treatment, I notice the original rocker panels has a row of evenly spaced holes.

Do these holes mean my rockers had the scalloped trim along them?   Or did every rocker have those holes and the factory filled them with lead on cars that didn't get the trim?

I believe that means that your car had the rocker moldings.

For lack of time to search what your car is, what year and model is your car?
70 BS ?

Looks to be about the same spacing as our '72 that has rocker moldings, except on ours they are little pins and not holes.

Interesting  I only recall two types of rocker moldings in 1970 ...ALL "BS" cars (except AARs) came with the fish scale or scalloped moldings along the bottom. ALL "BP" Grand Coupes had the horizontal louvered rocker moldings......BUT were either of these moldings available on the "BH" Barracudas ? or was there a third style for 1970 Plymouth E-Bodies that I haven't heard of ???

Your car is a "BH" Barracuda is it not ?

Seems like a question for our options expert Dan ... @6bblgt

Of the restored cars I've seen, they haven't had the mouldings, but it looks like the car in this news paper article does.

That one is a Grand Coupe. What's the VIN on yours, is it a Grand Coupe ?

BP Gran Coupe models ALL received the horizontal rocker moldings.

BH did not receive anything as far as I have seen on any model.  Hence the M46 option only comes on BH coded cars.  They have no rocker moldings to interfere with the M46 scoops.

You should be able to find a set of BP moldings in the 200-600 range depending upon how nice they are.  Some folks just ask 500 for whatever shape they are in.  Hold out, find a good set if your going to pay that amount.

#9
all the St. Louis Blues "'cudas" are Gran Coupes (BP)
all Gran Coupes have the "louvered" sill "rocker panel" mouldings STANDARD (M25)

there was not an available sill moulding (M25) on the Barracuda (BH)

Thank you very much Dan :worship:
There you go Filthy, if your car's VIN  starts with "BP" it came with these rocker moldings from the factory, and that's why your rocker panels have the holes...

@6bblgt    Did you make this off of what we know about other blues cars?  Or is this from some valid source?   When I bought my car there was no fender tag and no build sheet...

Your dash VIN number will tell you whether or not it had these rocker moldings  :alan2cents:
