What is the best way to remove the water pump housing from a 440?

I must have used to much RTV the last time I put the housing on.
I'm trying to get the housing loose from the block and it's not moving.
I have the 6 bolts removed.
It is a cast iron housing.
Tried separate at the gasket interface with screwdriver and 2lbs hammer. Nothing happened
Do any of y'all have some great guidance?
