Who sells exterior paint?

Should be able to mix it in a single stage

I've walked in to several PPG paint stores and asked for auto paint and they turn me away.

It's because they know you will be calling and complaining that the color doesn't match. Selling paint to the general public would be a nightmare. We mix our own paint here at the shop and I can tell you color match is our biggest headache. The worst is just bumper replacement on a brand new car with pearl white paint. 

That is pretty presumptuous.  The correct answer is because not all PPG stores sell automotive paint, the ones I went into only sell interior/exterior house paint.

I say this because I hear my jobber always complaining about it. Customer wants a quart of paint to shoot a door or whatever. Jobber mixes up the formula and sells it to the customer. Customer calls and says it didn't match are you sure you mixed it right? Now he mixes another quart with a different alternate formula. Customer calls and complains that one doesn't match either. At this point he refunds the customer for all that product. So he's out and the customer thinks he just sucks at mixing paint. After a few of these I'm sure you get the idea. The reality is that it's no ones fault. It's just how it is.

I hear what you are saying but I was replying to a comment that supplied a link to PPG.  I was making the point that you can't walk into any PPG store and get auto paint.
